Calcutta Brasserie Review – January 2022

Review
So the first review of 2022, which we all hope will be an uninterrupted year, from Calcutta Brasserie in Stony Stratford. A couple of beers in the George to begin then on to the restaurant. Six members were present.
After an initial concern over the booking, we were seated on the upper level of the very unique venue. The upper level was pretty full and the lower level pretty empty. Good poppadoms and pickles, which were supplemented with extras to begin. I started with Lollipop chicken, followed by Laal Maas and plain naan. Excellent starter with a light, crispy batter. The Laal Maas was rated at three-chillies, but it wasn’t that hot. It was however full of flavour with tender lamb, not noticeably pre-cooked. All members enjoyed their dishes which were produced with excellent service. No problem returning to this restaurant or recommending it.
