Golden Curry Review – February 2022
After a friendly pint in the Eight Belles, we entered the Golden Curry in great spirits.
The place has been recently decorated and looks better than it has in years. Pops and dips were great, starters took a bit too long to arrive, but, worth the wait as they were all excellent. Mains were also very good, tender lamb and succulent chicken. This felt like a proper ‘post Covid’ evening out with the restaurant being full. Great to see and good evening had by all.
See comments below.
Also, check out the scores and the common curry.
|Good dipping sauces and Pops||Menu, a few description mistakes and didn’t represent the spiciness of the dishes too well|
|Nicely decorated (says our resident decorater)||Rashmi kebab, could be a bit more spicy but a tasty, generous portion|
|Full covers and nice atmosphere||Vegatable side, okra, too many onions|
|Polite staff, with use of table heaters||Vegatable side, saag aloo, a bit tasteless|
|Starters generally good and generous. Lamb chops and fish masala recommended||Naan bread, average but ok|
|All main dish portions were generous|
|Lamb Chilli Wazza, spicy and tasty|
|Chicken Tikka Achar, pickly and quite hot|
|Lamb Chilli Meze – hut curry, lovely lamb|
|Service friendly and efficient|
