Five members of the Curry club visited Dinajpur  in Fenny Stratford at the end of February.

We were pleased to find the restuarant full and be seated quickly, prompt service of drinks and we had a round table reconfigured to our liking.

Poppadoms were served and replenished quickly and were crispy and fresh.

Drinks were refilled and our orders taken. One of our motley crew asked for an item not on the menu and this was quickly accommodated without fuss, indeed with the explanation that not all items could be kept on the menu at all times.

A slightly longer wait for food ensued but when it came it was both piping hot and served on to hot plates. An extra dish was added free of charge to get our opinions. We were divided on that one but generally very positive about the main menu and portion sizes. Though not always each other’s choices!

The restaurant looked fresh and modern, the menu is being refreshed and we are told the toilets will be refitted in the summer.

We appreciated the chance to chat to the chef and also learnt about the Dinajpur region of India. (You will have to ask for yourself…)

All in all a great evening with some excellent food and ambitions.

Welcoming greeting. Nice group of waiters	Didn’t ask if we wanted pops, maybe too many
Quick with he drinks and pops. Service pretty good all round	Staff a little short at first
All the tables in use after we were seated. Good sign	Bit of a long wait for main course
Rashmi Kebab for starter. If anything else is not on the menu, just ask, they will do it, if they can	Glace cherries with starters, didn’t work
Lovely King Prawn Puree, prawns and puree served separately on a single plate	Toilets functional but not great. Only one for men and one for women
Lamb Tikka, tasty but a little dry	One member asked for the Chicken Chettinad to be spicy but it wasn’t
Dinajpur mixed kebab (for two), pretty decent and great selection and portions. Prawns were sparse	Bhindi Bhaji, quite bland
Lamb Razala, good quantity, not bad
Chicken Chettinad tasty
Mango Chicken, very tasty, perfect for those who prefer something milder
Tarka Daal, Mushroom bhaji and Saag Aloo sides all good
Various naans and rice, all good
