Cafe Balti Review – September 2022
Cafe Balti is situated in Wolverton on the outskirts of Milton Keynes
formally a Railway engineering town.
On our arrival at the restaurant we didn’t feel we were expected
despite having booked and arrived on time. The staff were slow taking
our drinks and popadom order, and needed asking to take our order
for starters. There were no hand drying facilities in the gents wc,
however enough of the negatives.
The popadoms and pickles were good, lime pickle had a kick (in a
good way) we all enjoyed our starters, those having the prawn puri
said it was particularly tasty, mains were served and enjoyed by all of
us, served with a variety of rices and breads.
Menu prices were reasonable, with both Cobra and Kingfisher on
draught.
After a slow start things came right in the end. The restaurant does
lack a little ambiance, it seems more focused on takeaways.

Food was generally ok and good value | No one to greet us, had to shout to the kitchen. Table not ready, even though booked |
Tiny dips but nice, cheeky lime pickle | Toilet water hardly running. No hand driers working, dirty. |
Service improved dramatically when the boss turned up | Staff miserable, unhelpful and generally incompatent. |
Rashmi kebab, good omelette and tasty burger | Plain pops were soft. Keema Naan, very doughy |
Prawn puri, good spicy portion | Saag Aloo Bora, very bland |
Onion bhaji ok. Saag paneer ok
Lamb Methi Chom Chom, very good
