The Grange Review – August 2022
The Long Hot Summer had finally ended, and a few of us took advantage of the mild start to Autumn to have a couple of al fresco beers, prior to our September trip to The Grange at Grange Farm. This was a hastily rescheduled event, as our planned trip was cancelled because the target restaurant had sadly closed. It was good to see a bigger turnout of the Curry Club, compared to the more sparsely attended Summer events. Post covid, most of us have taken advantage of the weather to have time away but it was great to meet up with old friends again.
The Grange is an ever-popular destination, nicely decorated and with friendly and attentive staff. The comments will give specific opinions on individual dishes but, to generalise, there were lots of positive noises made about all the dishes, with only a few exceptions. The crab puree was not well received and the tarka dall split opinions – I ordered it and I’m firmly in the pro camp, as I thought it was delicious. The food was generous in portion size and the timing was good – not rushed but no long waits either. And the staff kept the beers flowing. Overall, it was a very good night!
